we will bargain together

Protected Action Ballot: We won the order.

8 August 2021

Dear Members,

The Fair Work Commission has finally granted our application to take protected action to fight for the respect we deserve.

With both NSW Trains and Sydney Trains shamelessly stalling negotiations we know the only way we will progress our claims is if we make sure our voices are heard loud and clear.

This has been a long and drawn-out process with NSW Trains and Sydney Trains trying every trick in the book. First, they tried to force members to accept a roll over for a measly 0.3% and when that didn’t work, NSW Trains and Sydney Trains tried to force us to negotiate separately at different times and locations.

They even threw over $100,000 of taxpayer money at lawyers trying to stop you exercising your democratic right to vote to take action.

We now need members to vote up the PAB for strong and united action to force NSW Trains and Sydney Trains to take this agreement seriously.

What happens now:

We have engaged an online voting provider to make sure that when the vote gets up we can have the results and move to action quickly and will be in touch with the specifics of how the vote will work soon.

When the ballot opens vote YES in every box.

If you haven’t already, it is vital you update your details with both the RTBU and your Employer, and these details must match.

You can update your details with the RTBU right here.

Make sure you vote YES in every box and encourage your workmates to do the same

Once the voting period is over, the real fight begins. We’ve showed up to work through bushfires, floods and a global pandemic. We’ve kept the state running and we deserve to have our employer sit down and negotiate an Enterprise Agreement that reflects our hard work.

Every eligible member should vote YES, for respect.

In solidarity,
