Congratulations to all the members who participated in yesterday’s strike action and made it such a success.
We had an amazing turnout across the state that members can be proud of. Brett Holmes from Nurses and Midwives Association, Michele O’Neil from the ACTU and Thomas Costa from UnionsNSW were among almost one thousand RTBU members and other unionists who joined the digital stop work meeting and shared their support. The photos members have sent in have done a remarkable job of capturing the solidarity yesterday.
We stood together, we stood strong, and we didn’t let any hurdles senior management threw at us stand in our way. Members should be proud of all we’ve achieved not only yesterday but throughout this entire protected action period.
The solidarity displayed at worksites across the state yesterday is a testament to what we can and will continue to achieve when we stand together.
Yesterday members passed the following resolution: “Our membership endorses the action taken thus far and resolves to support taking whatever future action is necessary to ensure our rights are upheld and we get the respect we deserve.”
We’ve still got a big fight ahead of us. We must continue to fight for the respect we deserve.
The momentum we’ve gathered over the last 30 days of action cannot and will not go to waste.
There’s more to be done to finalise our enterprise agreement so make sure you have your delegate’s contact details, that you like the union’s page on Facebook, and that yours and your workmates contact details are up to date. Let’s win this together!
